More about the farm:
Fernando and Angie own coffee plantations in Costa Rica's Western Valley, a region known for its complex microclimates, volcanic soils, and high elevations. This area consistently produces Cup of Excellence winners.
Their estate, situated over 1800 meters above sea level, focuses on optimal processing methods for each coffee variety. Fernando, an agricultural engineer, cultivates new F-1 hybrid coffee varieties developed by global coffee research organizations like World Coffee Research. These hybrids are more resilient to climate change and diseases, and yield higher production.
Angie, a certified Q-grader, ensures the continuous improvement of their coffee's quality through her tasting expertise. Their collaboration enhances cultivation, processing, roasting, and final cup quality. Their high-quality coffees regularly achieve high SCA cupping scores and participate in the Specialty Coffee Association's Cup of Excellence competitions.
